Meet the face behind
Hello Grief my unwanted friend

Hi, I am Rebecca, mother of two, a son and daughter. On the 28th November 2020, my daughter passed away. She was 18, looking forward to Christmas and the new year, with plans for the future written in her journal she called; “Adulting”.
Obviously, my life changed. I wasn’t sure how deal with the grief of losing a child, a mum's worst fear.
After a period of time, which I cannot specifically recall, (different for everyone) I wanted to seek ways to help me navigate this hideous feeling inside. There was a variety of advice regarding the 'stages of grief' but all I wanted was to stop feeling so incredibly sad all of the time, laugh again without guilt and enjoy what is left of my own life.
I created this website and blog, which is partly; a diary of a Vilomah, (Sanskrit* meaning for a parent who has lost a child), but more importantly; a collection of ideas for anyone also seeking to enhance their life after bereavement, feel joy again or just improve their well-being.
My posts will explore inspiration on a wide range of topics from; motivational speakers, travel, hobbies, art, cookery, spirituality, exercise, meditation, charity work and anything else that takes our fancy. All of the suggestions have been part of my journey, or fellow bereaved mums.
Join me on this expedition where I hope to offer you ideas for self-help and a way to find some semblance of happiness amidst bereavement and the trials and tribulations that life throws us.
